Creative Ideas that Sell

Someone wise once said that a man, who stops advertising to save money, is like a man, who stops the clock to save time… Add to this another conceptual idea, saying that advertisements contain the only truth to be relied on in the newspapers, and you will get a clear understanding why advertising is equally popular among both advertisers and those for whom advertisements are created. However, modern advertising has evolved greatly, adopting its objectives, concepts, and approaches to the new needs of the modern world.

Chinese Limited Edition Bottle of Absolut Vodka

This August, Absolut is planning to release 350,000 of its newest limited-edition bottles, but only for the Chinese market. The Absolut 72变 (Absolut 72 bian/Transform) bottle was designed by a Chinese artist, Gao Yu. The name of the edition — Absolut 72变— refers to an old legend about a monkey god (Sun Wukong), which had a long journey to the east. From his mentors he managed to acquire the powers of the “72 transformations” and now was able to change shapes. And as with all of Absolut’s limited-edition bottles, the contents inside will remain true to the classic recipe.

Mini vs Porsche

Mini is challenging Porsche to a race. It’s launched a Facebook campaign to suggest a showdown at the Road Atlanta course, two weeks from now, between its Cooper S model and Porsche’s 911 Carrera S. The amusing part, as Jalopnik points out, is that the 172-horsepower Cooper S has all but no chance against the 385-horsepower Porsche 911, unless the Porsche is being driven by an elderly person.
