This car right here goes by the name “AMV-R”, an acronym which stands for Automotive Visual Racing. And it’s fantastic. The name of this project is the “Hyundai Aebulle” concept car, and it’s designed by Shane Baxley. The word Aubulle, when translated directly from Korean, means “cocoon.” When you are in the cocoon, you are definitely cocooned. A sort of lay-down seating situation with the vehicle wrapped all around you. Cruising through the streets on a luge of Aubulle. The mobility and speed of a motorcycle with a cocoon-like safety for the body of the driver. Plus super fabulous light strips.

This concept car is designed for the “QUICK” group. In future society of China, the “QUICK” group will be a member of the “humble abode”. The “QUICK” group is made of primarily by single white-collars and partially by small or dink families. Since this group generally features short working time after graduation, limited purchasing power, great need of apartments and dependence on parents for the first payment, they choose suburb apartments which are not very expensive and have inconvenient traffic as they are far away from the downtown.

Not only is there a gigantic strip along the entire landing area for the train as it stops that shows the density of the population of the train, there’s LEDs everywhere! Included in this system of items is a revamp of status screens, unique information for certain trains (like wi-fi capability,) and all-around ease-in-use improvements for everything having to do with train and train-like transport worldwide.

Designed by Italy’s ADR Studio, the iWatch would feature a gorgeous aluminum body reminiscent of Apple’s other “i” devices. The wristwatch would not only tell time on a sleek full-color LCD screen, it would have integrated Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, run apps, and could connect with either the iPhone or iPad (presumably to interact with remote apps and data). Oh yeah, and it would have a built-in Pico projector.

LG, Samsung and ASUS have all developed hardware for Windows Phone 7, but none tickle my fancy quite as much as this WP7 tablet concept, which has a kickstand that folds into a keypad, and joystick controls on the back. It’s the work of designer Umang Dokey, who dreamt up the 8-inch tablet with two webcams and the aforementioned hardware niceties. The two joysticks would be ideal for gaming, acting like shoulder buttons—they could even be handy when scrolling through documents or the web. A kickstand that folds in front to become a keypad is a terrific idea—especially when it’s implemented into the actual device, unlike the iPad’s keyboard kickstand.

The Hyundai Genesis Sedan, the recently-unveiled all-new Sonata, and the upcoming executive-class Equus are reshaping Hyundai’s lineup from budget South Korean automaker to world-class player. Mercedes-Benz is in a process of reinventing its design language, going from the sharp edged and relatively boxy designs at present to a much more fluid form for its next-generation of cars. Peeping into the future with vision and strategy, London-based design and innovation company Seymourpowell has designed a giant, elegant “clipper in the clouds” airship called “Aircruise” that seems to embark on a new era in luxury travel. Harnessing solar power with a primary hydrogen fuel cell drive, the Aircruise can cruise at around 90mph, leaving no carbon footprint behind.
