Experimental design team Aircord Labs has released a proof of concept video demonstrating an iPad with 3D capabilities visible to the naked eye. The effect is achieved with a specially designed projector that beams images into a pyramid shaped screen.

Say what you will about the way Apple is handling the iPhone 4 debacle, just don’t say anything about the design of their stores. This Shanghai Apple store opened on July 10 and what a beauty she is. Architecture firm Bohlin Cywinski Jackson not only designed this one, they were also the ones responsible for Apple’s 5th Avenue flagship store in New York City. Popular Science+ is a new way of experiencing magazines on digital devices and a first step toward our vision of what digital magazine reading can be. Mag+, Bonnier’s digital magazine platform, is a project that began months ago in a collaboration between Bonnier’s global R&D task force and BERG, a London-based design studio.

We’ve seen some pretty neat concepts of how magazines will make the transition to tablets, but this new VIV magazine spread by Alexx Henry Studios is maybe the most visually arresting yet.

The above video shows you how the spread, which is an article about five common sex fears, would look and behave when viewed on the iPad. The video below shows how they made it, including shooting the models with the RED camera and creating all of the environments to stick them in.

A Chinese artist named PixieTea both recorded this song and shot the accompanying video almost entirely on an iPhone 3GS. The surprise? It’s actually pretty decent! Through a slew of music generation apps, like DrumMeister, Bassist, iDrum, NlogSynthesizer, NESynth and iShred, plus photography software including a stop motion app and 5d2 (a remote for the Canon EOS 5D Mark II DSLR used for a few of the shots) and, of course, a laptop, PixieTea (and crew) created this 3:39 music video named “ABCD Said” from the ground up. For the skeptics in the house, apparently the story was confirmed by local media. And yes, the vocals were most probably recorded through a standalone mic.
